For those that are attending, I thought it may be good to start a thread including information about when you're arriving, where you're staying, etc...

There are several of us who are local to the area that may be able to give some tips and advice for the out-of-townees that will be stopping by.

I live about 5 miles from the Hilton, and drive by it every day, so I may be of help. I'm also a lifelong Western WA resident who has lived in the area from 25 miles north of Bellevue to 25 miles south.

This would be a good thread for those who are going to attend to make arrangements to gather, especially if arriving early.

I'll be flying to San Diego early on the morning of the 22nd, but I may have time earlier in the week to meet up.

For those of you flying in without a car, the Red Lion (next door to the Hilton) has a Hertz rental car counter. The nice thing is that you don't have to pay all of the extras attached to airport rental cars since it's considered a "neighborhood" location. If your hotel provides a shuttle from SeaTac airport, then you may want to schedule your car rental through Hertz. This is better if you're a AAA member as their prices are often high otherwise, but you still may save money. I used them last summer when the trans on my truck went bad. No worries.

If you have any more questions regarding travel, let me know as I do a lot of flying and often find prices for others flying in. I also know of a lot of restaurants, etc... in the area.

You're the man, MarkO! I don't have that kind of land to offer. But I highly recommend taking advantage of the over-water routes available!

If you've never been to Seattle and don't know when you'll be back, add a couple of days to your trip. You won't regret it! There's so much to see out here. Bellevue is 2 hours from Canada, 2 hours from Vancouver, BC, 2 hours from the Pacific Ocean, and 2 hours from a wine region that is quickly rivaling that of the Napa and Sonoma valleys (Yakima - yeah, I'm serious! I was there a couple of weeks ago)!

I have a room at the Hilton ,and will be arriving wednesday. My son was stationed at the sub base in Bangor, so we have been to your beautiful state before. We are driving out from Michigan in our 69 Sport Wagon and sight seeing on the way. The BDE will have an "after tour" leaving sunday , and we will be part of that group. I agree with the people that live in Washington, that if you have not been there ,take the time to see the area, it is FANTASTIC!

Maybe I'll go shopping for citrus this weekend... they'll be in tip-top ripeness for summer chucking...

The Gorge (in George) is run by House of Blues now. They've only got three concerts listed on their calendar right now. The latest one being John Mayer on June 2nd. http://www.hob.com/venues/concerts/gorge/index.asp If you do go, I highly recommend staying in a Cliff House on the Cave B Inn Winery next door. My wife and I did this last September. The views are spectacular!!! www.cavebinn.com
