I've got a 72 Skylark with a 350 SBB. The previous owner installed a 200-r4 tranny, however he never finished the job before he sold it to me (he needed the $$ to buy a 84 Camaro, uhg!). Two questions: Which coolant line on the tranny is the hot line to the rad? How do you connect up (& adjust) the TV cable to the Q-jet. If anyone has pics of the TV settup it would sure help. Thanks, Marc

You will need two things, the bracket to hold the cables and the bracket on the carb to hook the cable to.

Here's a picture of mine, in fact the carb you're looking at could be for sale.

Thats exactly how i have mine done :TU: as well the brackets are found on full size oldsmobiles 307's and also use the cable from that same car. ALSO notice the spacer under the carb !!! Buick do not have room to run the cable with out the spracers at least on the earliers manifolds. I also use the convertor lock up switch from the oldsmobiles ( back of intake ) as well it works reallly good and is easy to hook up

Click here for some tips. Step 3 details the proper geometry for the cable connection. TCI carries the brackets too. :Brow:

Thanks to all of you! The picture was a BIG help. This info should get me going. Have you guys done anything to your 200-r4 to increase its reliability?

    Thanks again, Marc

if you're going to put behind a 455, for sure you'll need to beef it up or it will not last. Mine was already in the car when I got it and the PO included all the reciepts, spent $1500 on it.

I'm sticking with the 350 for now (although I have a line on a 430, but not sure if the block is any good) and plan to do some mild upgrades; cam, porting, recurved dist., maybe boost comp. Will installing a shift kit in the tranny be enough to handle this?

Please read the link from Greg! You will wreck the transmission without perfect geometry for the TV cable. ? is the cable adjust button on the back side? Do not see it in the pic. I love the transmission but you cannot mess up the TV system.

Yes, the adjustment for the TV cable is on the firewall side of the cable mount.
