    Hi folks,

I have been researching various shocks (Bilstein, KYB, Koni, UMI) and am having trouble deciding what is best for my car.

My budget for a full set of shocks is about 400 bucks. I am more interested in handling than comfort. The car will be street driven. "Spirited" driving on windy roads mainly.

I am interested in your recommendations and personal experiences with various shocks. Thank you.

For a little over your budget you can get the vari shock bolt ons that are valved from the factory. They are very nice modern performance shocks, with big aluminum bodies. For the money I think you are getting a lot of shock and bang for your buck. You will love them!

Cool. Just had a look at their website. Hadn't heard of them. Thanks for the tip!

By the way, where in Texas are you? I am from Keller originally, and my 67 GS is currently in a shop in Rockwall (Fast Eddies)

What shock brand are you talking about? Billstein? and which supplier?
    Thanks

Sorry the brand is VariShock, and you can get them here: http://www.cachassisworks.com/c-646-chevelle-64-67-gm-a-body.aspx

They list the double and single adjustable, but we are talking about the factory set ones. About $250 a pair.

I am in Wichita Falls, pretty close to you! There are a lot of North Texas guys, we should do a meet!
