:Dou: Darn! The Cowboys all but had it in the bag tonight! Oh well, like it would have mattered this year.

Would have helped my Giants out in the end picture. That's the only reason I would have wanted them to win...

    Oh yeah...Let's go Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the mighty dog fighter can't handle some Bears... Looks like the GMen are in a tie again, and we don't even have 5 of or regular WR's or OL men...Now, with a newly regenerated Cowboys team, the Eagals will have a tougher time of it....

On a side note: What do y'all think of Godell turning the game into flag football???? I wish I had more time to talk to him in London. This no-hitting,helmet hitting, hitting while angry, etc, just about ruins the game.:moonu:

Our team in Atlanta is really tough at home....On the road..maybe .500.
Green Bay has a great QB, a good defense, and NO running game...Gotta fix that!
Poppa Luv...It is going to be big in the ATL on 12/27!

It's pretty common to see players hold back on the field these days because they don't want a penalty or fine. It's a shame too, because I really get a kick out of watching vintage NFL footage; it was wall-to-wall balls being played. But, I'm also not in favor of cheap shots, like facemasking, horse collars, and the likes - things that are beyond good sportsmanship.

Maybe it has something to do with the players getting bigger, stronger, and faster. Some of these guys now days are built like horses. I can see how injuries can be a bit more serious and easily inflicted now. Also, I can't remember the last time I watch an NFL game being played in the mud. Playing on dry turf leads to an increase in injuries, I think.

Aside from the entertainment, one of the commentators on MNF brought up a good point about the league's legal liability to players who get hurt. If someone files a lawsuit claiming the NFL didn't "sufficiently protect" them, then things could go south in a hurry. You know how things are these days.

You spoke with Godell? What did he have to say?

Just had a few moments. We had incredible seats at Wembley-just in front of Hokie Gaijan(sp.) and other local announcers.:TU: He commented on our fan base, my tat, and the fact I didn't spill any of the 4 or 5 beers I was carrying.:Do No: I reminded him where I was from and he laughed. I did mention if they EVER allowed Benson to move the team-we would be doomed in many ways. I was upset w/ the wife that I never got a pic w/ him before he left.:( She didn't understand why I wanted one.

Of course this is the same woman who turned down 4 suite tix at the Dome for LSU BCS championship game cause she said I don't have as many LSU shirts as Saints:confused: . So you see what I'm dealing with.
Oh, I forgot I wasn't supposed to bring that up anymore....:idea2:

I got some great pics from there. Very nice. I'll look 'em up...

I believe the answer to the concussion problems is to make the players wear a better helmet. And the new helmet will not have the hard shell on the outside that inflicts so much damage to jaws and teeth.
NASCAR made drivers wear HANS devices and that has elimated the broken spinal cord injuries we saw in the early 2000's....
Anyone here that wants to see guys get hurt needs to read the Jim Mcmahon story. He can't recall any of his playing career, and has short-term memory loss so bad he can barely function. And there are many more players just like him...

The Bears Q-back? Never heard that. Maybe it was all the sweatbands. But it's like the 350lb linemen who suddenly aren't burning 4,00 calories a day and their health problems, poor Earl Campbell, etc.
But they get paid very well, know the risks and the future probabilities. That being said, I agree with better pading and helmets, but are we playing tackle football or not????? Guys are getting fined for straight up tackling. I am not condoning cheapshots and such, but when you pull up after running full-tilt boogie at the QB and glance off him, you should not see yellow on the field.

The Patriots made a statement last night....
Tom Brady was flawless....If their D-Line can improve by the playoffs, they have to be the team to beat in the AFC....
My Falcons are looking good in the NFC, but that game vs N.O. looms large....

Right now the Packers are not even a Wild Card team...
But I agree they are still a factor....IF Da Bears lose 2 more games....
Saints vs Falcons is the big game this year in the NFC...Who would have thought that? :eek2:
