SKEETER Still not on the road!!!

So does anyone have any experience with Roadmasters? Good or bad? I need a new parts hauler and a station wagon would be perfect. It has a 305 v8 in it. The guy says it runs and drives good and only wants $750...He did email me however and say "it needs some work." I am supposed to call him today so maybe I'll know a little more about what kind of "work" it needs.

So what is the general consensus on these? What kind of highway mileage can I expect out of the beast?

Since its a 305, I'm assuming it is a first generation small block chevy?

    Thanks.

My Brother has had one for a year or so and its has 180,000 miles on it and still pulls down 21 mpg on the highway believe it or not. Has the typical chevy blue cloud when you first start it and leaks oil pretty good but the body is really clean on it and its loaded with all the bells and whistles that amazingly all still work. Somebody had obviously put a shift kit in it somewhere down the line as well cause it shifts real firm. The ABS doesn't work but that is pretty typical of those. All in all its been good so far and even starts on those sub zero Chicago days. He pd $1100 off of ebay so if its fairly clean body wise I would say your probably doing good.Good luck.
