I'm looking for a 91-96 full size wagon. Buick, Olds, or Chevy. All I really need is a frame and body shell that isn't rusty, but a complete car will also do. I don't need anything mechanical, glass, interior or even a title. Ohio winters have taken a toll on my wagon. I'll probably get a few more years out of it, but I don't want to wait until mine is done. It must be located in the Eastern/Southern part of the country. Thanks

I don’t think Olds used the b-body that late?

West coast cars are nice too.

They made a 1991 Vista Cruiser wagon. West coast cars are great, but too far from me.

    Thanks, I didn't know that.

I am just thinking, if you are planning on swapping the glass and the interior and the engine, a three day drive from west coast to east doesn't seem like a big hit.

I don't think that I would be able to tow the vehicle that far and it would probably cost a fortune to have it shipped. I would probably never buy a car without looking at it first. I'm willing to drive 12 hours or so to look at and possibly purchase a car, but driving cross country is a bit too far, although I wouldn't mind having a California car. I can swap engine, glass and interior at my leisure.

My grandmother drove a 91 olds wagon for years. I hated that thing! It was maroon on maroon on maroon on maroon. I was the youngest and always had to ride in the way back. I can say with 100% accuracy with the lack of rear HVAC, there was a year round minimum 40° difference between the front and way back seats. I either baked in the back or froze my ass off... plus it was about the dorkiest looking wagon ever made.

I will keep an eye out for a whole driving car, and if I spot one soon, I'll post it here.

Have personally seen more than one '91-'96 Roadmaster discarded @ the El Paso pick a parts. NO rot or pitting underneath. Just surface flash rust. Just something to consider.

Will they actually sell a car or partial car once it's in their yard? Around here, most yards won't sell the car once it makes it to the yard. They'll sell it when they first get it in, but not once it's on the yard. Do you have any contact information for any yards by you?

Am referring to cars seen in pick a parts. Once it's processed, and in "general population" it's not coming out whole. Meant by statement, if you made a private purchase it will be clean if it's from here originally. Emphasize on the "if it's originally from here" meaning the interior of the southwest.

One is still getting corrosion at that price. Likely a good specimen for Grand Rapids, but boy, that thing has rust underneath it. And by being at a dealer, it's going to be close to Double what a good one for sale by a private individual would be at.

I always walk away when the exhaust has been painted with the "coverall black" paint

That's definitely not a southern car. I saw that and the rust on the core support. That's why I don't look for good running cars on Facebook unless they're within a few hours from me. I don't mind driving 10 hours to buy a car that I know isn't running but is clean, but it sucks when you drive 10 hours to look a a mint car only to find it's a rusty pos.

That's what I'm saying, thanks Bob. Fly out and buy that for $5000, drive it home and forget about your old car.
