I have this 87 Lesabre that I fixed up for my son.I've done a lot to get this road worthy and she runs very nice at 80,000 miles. The one problem I have is the idle is so high at start up. I can't even kick it down after she warms up.I'm saying if I put it in drive I can probably go 25-30mph without stepping on the gas. I get no check engine light, and I know that works,I've sprayed wd-40 around the linkage, but that didn't help. When I shut it off and re start it,it idles normal then. Is it the idle speed control motor or would that give me a light? Any other ideas?
IAC valve would be my first guess. Typically what happens the pintle valve gets clogged and can't open and shut properly. I know every turbo Regal I've had has experienced that same issue.
