I thought these engines sucked! 546,000 Km's ??? Not that I'd want one, but I bet there aren't many of these diesels left. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-voiture-col...83/1446247164?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true Make Buick Model Century Body Type Coupe (2 door) Year 1983 Transmission Automatic Colour Brown Kilometers 546,000 Drivetrain Front-wheel drive (FWD) Fuel Type Diesel No. of Doors 2 No. of Seats 5 Includes Cruise control Trailer hitch Air conditioning Description Véhicule acheté neuf avec un seul propriétaire. I had no idea they ever made a Diesel in this model line. Must have been slower than...I can't say it here.
Amazing; who'd have thought that. Still, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. A General Motors car grade diesel just screams trouble.
It's painted green; - is it a Detroit Diesel 2 stroke? I wouldn't want to own any diesel car now, regardless of make, considering that they'll probably end up getting banned in the next 10 years. They're already beginning to ban them in some cities in Europe, and you can't rent one there anymore.
My step father ordered a 1983 Old Cutlass Ciera Brougham International Edition with a 4.3 L diesel. He drove the wheels off that thing, he gave it to his cousin who drove till it wouldn't pass a Missouri state safety inspection. I picked it up at the station that failed it, worked on it for a couple weeks and I drove it for another 2 or 3 years. I then sold it to a neighbor and he drove it into a tree, drunk. From 0-15 mph the car would torque steer and you thought it had some power....but it would kind of level off there. Yes I did drag race it once, 20.00 ets. The only car I ever raced where I'd mash the throttle on the first yellow of the tree and would have almost a perfect light every time. Guys would come up to me and say they knew for sure I was gonna go red, because the front of the car would lift but it wouldn't really go anywhere.
