Yes, about 200 of them. There is no real way to prove an 82 GN is real. One can only look for a few tell tale items. If they are on the car, it is presumed that the car is an 82 GN. If these items were to be replicated, there could be many more 82 GN's. The only item I'm not sure of in this regard is the availability of the 4.1 V-6 on other 82 Regals.

Where's the turbo? (Or weren't earlier GN's turbocharged?)

The 82 GN came out after the production year was half over.
It is considered the 1982 1/2 Grand National. The 4.1-4 LC4 V6 is not turbo and yes it was available in the other Regal models. The two tone gray paint scheme was also available on other Regals and Buick models. The difference, of course, was the BUICK decal on the quarter panels and GN plates on the front fenders. The Lear-Seigler seats were also two tone gray in leather and cloth and of course the blacked out dash plates. At that time a dealer bulletin was released to the dealers with RPO codes and part numbers explaining how to order replacement parts from GMSPO. Building a clone would be hard...........
    ...I think I burned out a memory brain cell or 2........... :eek2:

The "turbo bulge" had me wondering.

There were "215" '82 Grand Nationals produced, to be precise, according to all the References that I've seen about them!:Smarty::TU:

I love that 2 Tone paint job (Silver and Black)!:bglasses:

    Hey David--

Question on the 82 GN. I believe, but am not absolutely certain, that the 84 T-Type Lear Siegler optional front seat was the same as the 82 GN, i.e. the turbo swoosh is not embroidered in color, like the 84 GN Lear Seigler Seat. However, the rear seat in the 82 GN and the 84 GN are the same. My question goes to color. Since I have never seen an 82 GN in person, when it is described as gray, is this the same "grey" that was used on the 84 GN/TType seats. I was lucky enough to pick up a very nice set of 84 T type Lear Siegler seats, and I am wondering if they are the same as the 82 GN.

    Good question Dan,

Most info I submit on any given day is from memory, when it works of course. But I'll try and find you an answer. The current GM catalogs do not have this info any longer. I've got some older books in the ABS library that I'll blow the dust off of and check for you.
    I'll be back..............

I know where there is one right now with a turbo. Friend of mine bought it for his daughter when she was 16 and she still has it. Condition is mint. The only major thing it needs is to take off the aftermarket wheels and put on the Buick wheels. I am trying to go over and get pics of it. I could have bought this 4 years ago for $5000. Was to stupid at the time to know what it was. I am first in line to buy it if it ever comes up for sale. There are probably less than 10 of these (turbos) in good condition left.

Larry Miller from the Carolinas Chapter of the GSCA has probably the nicest example in the country of one of these cars. It's a very low milage car. I wish I had a picture of it. I have a digital shot of it on my computer at home I think.
