1979 Buick Lesabre Coupe 301 pontiac to 350 Chevy $ bolt Engine swap

    I am converting my 301 Pontiac to a 350 Chevy engine, I know I need as 350 chevy transmission as well, I was wondering do I need a long shaft of a short shaft transmission and what year transmission will work I have the engine out of a 1977 Chevy C/10. Did full size GM vehicles have short or long tail shafts?Help!!!
