Will the gears from a 1978 Pontiac T/A work in my 1969 Skylark rear?

No, the T/A is likely an 8.5 10 bolt, the 69 Skylark is a BUICK ONLY 8.2 10 bolt.

true factory 68 69 70 SkyLark rears are 8.25 and do not interchange with any other rear but 68-70 LeSabre - the low horse cars got this rear in that Mid to full size car (LeSabre)
Fabcraft HAs the specs for making 3.42 and 3.64 gearing when we first ventured into the making of the product. So we can only wait till the gears are reproduced once again.
I can get you Posi traction units for 2.56 2.73 2.93 3.23 3.42 stock gears... and with a bit more money even make you a 3.64 -5.00 posi unit if you really need.
