I have a pair of "blue-block" 455 motors/400 turbo long tail transmissions for sale. These are complete, air breather to oil pan, including the alternators, A/C compressors, HEI distributors, power steering pumps, brackets, & pulleys. One has 80K miles on it, the other has 95K. Both were running fine when pulled from a 225 and a Limited coupe that were headed for the demo derby. One has a rebuilt starter, the other has new components in the HEI. I liberally oiled both these motors up before storing them. I am asking $450 each, your choice. I would prefer you pick them up here in Fort Scott, KS 66701, but I am willing to ship them on an LTL carrier at the buyers expense if you have a business address to ship them to that has a loading dock and a forklift. I could post pictures, but they look just like all the other oily used 455 BBB motors you see on ebay. I was saving these for my 76 skylark project, but my packrat ways have caused me to end up with too many 455's laying around, and I need some cash to get one of my motors finished. The engine and trans, including the A/C compressor, alternator, power steering pump, exhaust manifolds, crossover pipe, pulleys, carb, air breather, and the transmission weighs in at 950lbs. With a skid under it and some plywood around it, the engine & trans will probably weigh close to 1100lbs.
I dont need the tranny but would be interested in both engines. You might be able to get them both on a pallet standing on end especially if you take of the accessories.
Well Herb, I guess the question becomes how many parts do you want me to take off?. If you don't need the accessories and just need the longblocks, I could take off all the brackets, the A/C compressor, alternator, power steering pump, exhaust manifolds, transmission, or whatever else you don't need. Make me a list of what you want on them (block, heads, distributor, intake, etc) and I will see what I can do. I will have to drain the fluids to stand them on end on a skid, but I see no problem with that. Let me know, Randy
Herb, I got some shipping numbers for you. Crating will run about $50 for the skid and tiedowns, freight will run $400 (ouch!) to ship the motors to you in Boston. I can drop the price of the motors to $325 each for the longblocks if you don't need the accessories or the transmissions. That puts us at $325+$325+$450S&H = $1100 total. Let me know, Randy
