1974 Stage One

    Okay, as you can probably tell, I'm new to the Buick world.
    I have a 76 trans am with a chevy 350 in it. I just drive it around town, being abnoctious, no strip use or anything.

    It's a good motor, but I want something with a ridiculous amount of torque (like 500ft/lbs.) I found a 1974 buick 455 out of a stage 1 Rivera. The owner says it was rebuilt and is asking $1000

    What do you guys think? Is that a good idea

    BTW: I have an M20, 8.5" 2.73 posi, and 30" tires (for highway milage), would 500ft/lbs of torque break stuff?
