Did it come from MN? is it white with a green interior? Nevermind I just saw the one you bought. Nice looking car :TU: There was a white with green interior 74 here in Lakeville last summer for $2000 that had a 455 in it. Solid car with little if any rust.
yup that is the one unfortunately they need more money than that for the one I purchased. I have seen you post but never realized you were in Lakeville. DO you have a 74 or 73? If so it is good to know someone locally who probably knows more than I do.
John I don't have a 73/74 GS, I really wouldn't mind having a 73 someday. If I had the chance my ultimate would be a mint 75 pace car. Right now I don't have anything that runs, I just sold the White 68. It's project time again. There are a few of us down here in the south end of town. Dan Hopkins and his kids, Randy Peck and myself.
I like the 75 Pace cars best I really like the 75 pace car too, mine with a T-Tops please. There was one on e-bay a while back but it was a mojor project. #1 question how do you reproduce the decals for something like that, tough one If you get one in any shape I want to see it in person. Thanks, John
Is that your car Gary, Is that your car, if it is I like it. Please let me know I have some questions. John
Notice the fifth digit is a "T" Get ahold of our Board expert on this one, but I don't think there was a "T" code engine offered in a 73 Gran Sport. Pat Harmon here on the board should know more than about anyone. It may be a 1973 "T" code 455 Century, which is one of 99 built, rare yes, but not a Gran Sport.
Is this the same car: http://www.autorevolution.com/inv/vehicle.cfm?vid=119135&refby=www.centraltxautos.com If so, I think it had been listed at $9800. Randy
I knew I could find that ad with the $9800 pricetag: http://www.chooseyouritem.com/classics/files/127500/127796.html So is an engine detail worth $9,000?
I have a T code 73. Pat and I are still trying to figure out if they all came as GS's. (It seems that way) The one of 99 sounds right! So far every one we have seen has the GS stuff :3gears: Who knows for sure o No:
Ok Guys here is what I have so far.....According to the Daily car reports In 73, there were a total of 6,637 GS stickered cars (TL1 Monogram) also it states there were 6,637 of each of the following: BW1 rear ornament DL1 GS Decal TL1 Monogram T83 headlamp doors (black) T93 GS Tail Lamp These are all necessary on a GS So it breaks down to this.... 6,637 total 4930 GS 350's which leaves 1707 BB cars out of the 1707 728 were Stage 1 cars leaving 979 which happens to be the exact amount of 455 cars that were produced in 73...So by those numbers,I would say the T cars (A6) were NOT a GS car...But,I have been wrong a few times before.. Hope this isn't too confusing..
If this is original as he claims I see a few issues Incorrect Air Cleaner Decal ? Headlight Bezels are not as Black as the ones on my 74 GS some suspect things, but everything else looks correct.
If this is original as he claims I see a few issues Incorrect Air Cleaner Decal ? should it not say GS 455 if it is a GS? In know you can replace decals, but why would someone replace a GS Decal with a plain Jane 455-4 if this really was a GS?? Headlight Bezels are not as Black as the ones on my 74 GS some suspect things, but everything else looks real nice. OK if you could order a 454 Century, could you also order bucket Seats and the full length console with it? Hell maybe the 454 Century would be better in terms of value anyways. I sure would have liked to have this car for $9800 (whatever it is)
I Sent the guy an e-mail made an offer to him for under his asking price for the car and we will see what they say. FYI the 1974 documented original with 43,000 miles on it I just purchased was purchased for far less than that so this guy is way over priced even though the car is in detailed well and in better shape than mine but not much better and we are not even sure it is a real GS Let's see what the guys says and how mouch of a profit hog he wants to be :beer
Thanks Pat Changing my signature ASAP You are a wealth of info :bglasses: See ya soon Vito. You are THE MAN :Smarty:
This car was on eBay back in the spring just before the white stage 1 suncoupe. It was bid up to $12,900, I think, but I don't remember if it sold or not. At the time, the eBay seller, Master Classics, posted pics of the order form, window sticker, and the emissions control decal under the hood. I saved them and will attempt to post them. The window sticker doesn't call the car a GS, but the GS package could be the first option on the list. The picture isn't clear enough for me to make it out. Those of you who have seen the proper paperwork for one of these might be able to tell. Caveat emptor: The guy who runs 73GS.com says Sportscar Gallery misrepresented a 73 Stage 1 GS he bought from them.
Eric Are you talking about the one from Sports Cars in Pennsylvania? No I just got an e-mail back from Dave and he turned down my offer. If he get's 18 for that think my 1974 is going up for sale right now. Typical Dealer, I have brought one car through a dealer and will never do it again. Paid way too much for the car, but it was very well represented. My 1974 GS 455 I just brought is in the board members cars section. Do you think he marked it sold because I was questioning it? :Smarty:
