Rebuilt 455 engine. New aluminum radiator. New heater core. Resealed and inspected turbo 400 transmission. New front brakes. New Pertronix electronic ignition. Rebuilt Quadrajet carburetor. Hoses, front to rear, and belts replaced. 12 bolt differential inspected and fluid changed. New windshield installed. Rear window removed, tinted and reinstalled. Minor rust in front and rear window tracks PROPERLY repaired. Fuel tank removed, inspected and was nice and clean. Good tires. Current registration. I'm open to trades, depending upon what it is.

    The story is as follows:

The previous owner of this car is a long time friend. He inherited this Buick from his parents, who purchased it new, in northern California. He gave it to me as repayment on a loan. It was stored indoors, or under a carport, its entire life, 25 years of which, it was not driven. He started driving it, had it painted, and then the head gaskets failed. He parked it for about 5 years, without properly evacuating the coolant from the cylinders. The engine was locked up, when I took possession of the car. It was not rusted, but rather had a buildup, from the stagnant coolant.

I sourced a 1976 Buick 455 and rebuilt it, using the 1973 heads, so as not to reduce the compression to the low figures of 1976. The engine was in very good condition, so I opted to replace the rings, bearings, cam and lifters, oil pump, fuel pump, timing chain and gears and water pump, as well as prepare the block for the new parts. I chose not to upgrade the engine with performance parts, in an effort to reduce costs. While the engine and transmission were out, I had a transmission professional disassemble the turbo 400, inspect it and reassemble it with new gaskets. I replaced the old cracked tires and repaired several items on the car, that were not functioning properly. So now, it's a nice driver. I've driven it 600 miles, without issue, and used racing oil to properly break in the engine. The original engine is a good rebuildable core, and comes with the car.

I will answer any and all inquiries, to the best of my ability. Expect honesty from me, as I will have it no other way. I'm deep into this car. I will lose money, so don't fall under the impression that it's any other scenario. I'm just trying to recoup what I can from my investment. I always feel the need to rescue these old cars from the fate of the scrapyard. Let me know what your thoughts are, or what you have to trade.

Very nice. Not perfect but nice. No performance modifications, but he's got the flipped air cleaner lid because that is free. :D If I were in market, I would definitely take a look at this one.

$7500 for a rather plain 73 Electra that needs paint and interior - pass - not so rare either, they built 55 thousand of them, maybe rare by comparison of 4 doors but that's still alot of them built. Oh, and hideous wheels, stupid looking on a luxury car

I've found that even on rusty cars, that trim is usually in good shape.

Love the high-performance air cleaner, and yeah, the pricing is a bit high, but he did redo the motor and probably has to get something of the $6-7K he spent on that back.
I guess he assumes these big boats are just flying off the shelves, but he's in for a bit of a nasty surprise, he's still going to have this next summer so he can do more with it.
