In November of 1972 I purchased my first "new" car which was a 1973 Buick Century. Black outside with Burgundy interior with dog dish hubcaps. It had a no cost option of a 3.42 axle and a 4 barrel 350. The car really ran good and looked great. I would like to find a 73 that is decent shape. It doesn't have to be a GS or anything just a nice Century would fit the mark. I would appreciate any leads that you may have.
Thanks for the tip. They do have a couple 74's but I haven't seen a 73. I think the 73 is a nicer looking truck line and bumper line that the 74. Some very subtle differences between the two but there are differences. Marker light placement as well. One of the 74's is a good looking car for the price asked. I just really want to look for a 73 for a while first.
Here are three different 1973 Buick Century's for sale: http://classifieds.carforums.net/index.php?year=1973&make=BUICK&model=CENTURY
This car is for sale here in Pittsburgh. Looks loke a nice car, and not a long drive from VA. http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/1492188422.html You could come pick the car up, and stop by my place on the way back to get a motor for it.:TU: Tim
The car looks like it is really in ok shape. Unfortunately it is a 74 not a 73. I know the ad say's it a 73 but it's a 74. I prefer the colonade (tri-angle) window too. I appreciate the tip though. Pittsburgh is not a bad drive for me. I'm a Steeler fan anyway. I went to high school with Jack Lambert! Still looking for a 73 though.
No prob, bud. I'm not up on the newer body style cars. As for our Steelers, all I can say is CHOKE......
Still looking for a 73 Century. I found this on Ebay but it has not title. I don't know how hard it is to get a title for a car these days but here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973...QitemZ270497977128QQptZSalvageQ5fPartsQ5fCars I hope that link is right. DavidR
I have a 73 Regal 455 all original...Blue on Blue. 3k dollars...in Oregon. Its not a Century but its a 73. Thanks John.
Hey John, Thanks for the reply. I am really wanting a Colonade roof style so the Regal would not be my first choice. I do appreciate the response though. I wonder how many of these things are still around. You never see a Malibu or Lemans of that year either. Once and a while you see a Laguna type. I think the Buick is the best looking body style in the 73 model year of all the midsize GM cars. DavidR
Doug, I haven't found anything that really made sense to me yet. I did see one that was close to me here in Virginia but it had been used as a race car for a few years and changed hands with no title. The car just wasn't what I wanted to get into. I'm still looking. I'm only interested in the Colonade style top. I prefer that style instead of the formal roof line of the Regal. Still searching. DavidR

Does anyone live anywhere near this Century and could look at it? It's in Everett Washington according to the Craig's List ad. I'm going to try and call him right now. David
I talked to the man in Washington about the Century on Craig's list. I'm hard of hearing and he has a Hispanic accent so I think I understand most of it. I am very interested in this car and wonder if anyone lives near enough to this area to view the car? I am in Virginia so I would like to hear from an independant source preferably a Buick person. This car is very similar to my origina Century and would be a great buy if it's clean enough to bring back across the country to Va. Anyone have a spare moment to look at it, please let me know. David

Bob, Thank you for your response but I am really looking for a 73. Some subtle differences but I prefer the 73. Thanks again though. I am still hoping someone in the Everett, Washington area could put an eye on this one for me. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1539163854.html It would be nice to have a local person actually look at this. I have seen the pictures on Craig's list but they are not very clear. I talked to the man but didn't get good clear information. Some of it is my hearing is so bad from too many years in the factory. I would dearly love to have a Buick person see this car and talk to me about it. David
