Still looking for a 1972 Skylark/GS SportWagon power steering pump bracket. The particular bracket I am looking for is found on "A" body cars with a 455 or 350 with California emissions. I need the steel bracket that is bolted to the front of the pump and allows you to adjust belt tension to the P/S pump. See pics for reference. Thanks in advance, Steve
hey I think i might have a extra one ,since your so close you might be able to pick it up if i can find it -price$ i have no ideal laters Tim:3gears:
I have looked through every box in my garage; I found the aluminum part, but I cannot find the steel part that you need. I will continue looking for it and if I find it I will contact you to see if you still need it. Sorry if this causes you any problems. I know I have it; I just cannot find it. . . Laters Tim:3gears:
Most Riviera brackets look like the one in the picture below. It has a 1/2" square hole to adjust the P/S pump belt tension. But if the car has a bracket like the one in the picture above then it would work. The picture above is in a Electra and they were supposed to have the bracket with the square hole, but who knows. Thanks, Steve
Ijust went and checked(boy it's cold) the one on the car has the square hole -the hunt continues.laters Tim:3gears:
Though I may be able to help...went up to the barn last night to check my parts cars. One is a 72 skylark custom, with 350, complete with the California emissions. The original bracket is still there. I carried my camera up there to take a picture for you to ID and verify the part but the battery was dead. I'm happy to go back for a picture if you still need the part. Just say the word.
Sure it is...I wouldn't tease you like that. You're 120 mi away...you want to come get it, you can have it. FREE. Or if you like, I'll remove the whole pump with brackets and hoses and send it to you for $50 + a few bucks for shipping. I'm not sure I have the puller for the pulley...makes my life simple if the bracket comes with a pump.
