Use the diagram for the 67 to 69 engines as the 70 engine is wrong, it shows a rear distributor with the opposite rotation.

Thanks Larry and Wildcat! Man I can get really confused with all the wires and thinking backwards! I have a hot wire running froma a switch in the car to the coil! NOt sure why, but it wont start and keeps draining my battery! MAybe the carb is bad tto though>
You have to have a hot wire to the coil, however, it should only be hot when the key is turned "on". If it is hot all the time of course it will drain your battery and also burn your points. If the switch in the dash was added as the on off switch instead of using the key perhaps you have a bad resistance wire leading to the coil and this was used to bipass it. When there is power to the coil do you have spark at the points? Check to see if your points are badly pitted, if so replace them.
