So my car is a painful sight right now, with all the rust and shame that hides itself around the engine. I was wondering if tubular control arms exist for the rivs or if there are similar GM setups (e.g. chevelle) that i could use. Has anyone modified or seen a modified riv suspension?

I have seen a '71 Riviera with QA1 adjustable shocks but I can't find a good part number/reference for you at the moment. What are you looking to do, lower the Riv? Improve handling? Or are you planning on large wheels and you want the suspension to look nice behind a large wheel? Would you like adjustable suspension or airbags? How far do you want to go?

The stock control arms/suspension can look really good when they are sandblasted and painted.

Jamco makes a lowering kit. 1"-3" drops

My tire size will likely be 15" or 16", I plan on keeping stock height because I find it difficult to enter low cars; I'm a tall guy. I am fine with repainting and redoing the stock parts; I was just hoping to make it look nicer, be lighter and handle a little better. I was looking at my brothers 68 C10, his tubular control arms from CPP look really nice on his refinished frame, and i thought it would be great if I could get these parts for my car.

If i can't get tubular control arms I am content with stock, but I can't even find stock replacements in case something is critically wrong with any of mine.

15" tire size, did you mean wheel? 15" Buick Road (Rallye) wheels look really good on the Riviera, even the wheel covers look great. I have not seen any tubular control arms for the Riviera yet. As far as I know, there is no stock replacement control arms available. I don't believe you will have an issue with reusing the stock control arms, outside of replacing the bushing and making sure they aren't rotted or bent. Used replacements are available.

My apologies. You are correct, I have a set of those rims. I plan on getting a set of torque thrust D wheels for it too. Guess its refurbish for me then.

Are the rivs not b bodies in the suspension area?

I was going to clean and box mine but tubulars are do much nicer looking..

If you can find anything tell me, I'd prefer tubular to stock.
Just took a quick look at hotchkis, they have nothing for the 71 to 77 b-body. I'll keep looking.

Those look similar but are you sure they are a match for the rivs?

I have no idea... Only way to tell is ask for measurements...
I know they use b body bushings and ball joints and shafts...
    Other than that....
It's all i could find and 500 bucks is a little spendy to just check.
