Hey guys, I'm in need of the the corner moldings at the the bottom corner of the rear window the package tray and sail meets. I prefer black, but any color would be ok as long as they're in nice shape. I bought a repro pair, but they suck, excuse my language, and don't fit good at all. If anyone has a nice pair maybe you could send a picture and cost with shipping. I live just outside New Orleans, LA. My zip code is 70460.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

Guys two other things needed are the upper rear moldings on the front fenders and the slower front fender supports(lower front fender to radiator core support).

    Thanks again,
    Bryan

I’ve probably got the upper back fender moldings. What are you looking for ? The ones that screw on or just slip on?

So the repro ones don't fit well? That's disappointing, but not unexpected.

I used to make these parts and they were molded just like the originals.

Sadly another company came out with vacuum formed, not molded, parts that were a lot cheaper. That was the end of the correct styled reproduction pieces.

PS. I gave the name to these parts. I called them eggshells.

I didn't know they had both styles. My fenders have screw holes in them so I assumed the moldings screwed on not like the one on the hood which slips on.

Larry, I read many posts on these forums and see that you make many replies to peoples questions. It's evident to ma that you are a knowledgeable person about the Buick GS. So with that said I have a couple of questions. Did all 1972 GS/Skylarks come with the lower front fender supports and/or the cross braces on the radiator core support. When I bought this car 6 1/2yrs ago neither were there as were other parts missing. Now that I'm the same amount of time into the restoration I'm trying emphatically to replace all the missing pieces and make the car visually correct again. The picture in my thumbnail is actually how it looked when I bought it. So I thought it was complete and correct. Little did I know. Thanks, Bryan

The lower fender support bars should be on any Skylark/GS, but the radiator cross braces came on GS cars and convertibles. It also varied by year I believe, and some cars got them with the HD suspension packages.

I have the rear fender moldings that screw on and the lower braces here if you need. The slip on rear fender moldings are for '70 models. '71-'72 went with the screw on type.

Matt, I figured you would since you had the trunk molding clips and console ends that I needed a while back. I think I may have found a pair through a friend, but I'll let you know as soon as possible. What about 72 a/c car radiator support x braces and package tray ends?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

The repro package tray corners (like a lot of aftermarket parts) do not fit great "out of the box" but if you spend a few minutes grinding them in the right area you can get them to fit nicely. I should add that the area that needs to be ground down a bit is NOT visible once they're installed.

So in the event you don't locate some original ones and they don't crumble during the install you can use the repros with good results.

Unfortunately in today's world there are a lot of parts that need some TLC to instal with good results.

It's just the wonderful world of the "aftermarket ".......

I still have a set of yours. They are stashed away for when I might need them.

A lot of people are doing that with my parts.

For the corners, I opted to do them in the "smooth" style. That way they would be correct for all the 70-72 cars with the exception of a few 71 cars that came with a textured surface.

Also, to add to Larry's post about the radiator cross braces, the 71 GSX's also came with them regardless of whether the car was a 350 or BB car.

I had a 71 350 GSX that I bought from the original owner and it came with them.

This same thing may have been done on the 72 GSX's as well, I never checked into that.

Duane, you just need to bring all your parts back to market!! I'd be happy to stock them! :)

On the cross braces, all '70-72 convertibles (Skylark & GS) got them. In '70, GS 455 hardtop only. (i.e. not GS 350), and in '71-72 all GS Hardtops.
