Looking at purchasing a used 1972 N25 bumper and wondering if that year should have the N25 stamp like my 1971 does? Guy has a few and says he is only seeing the 'Y22M71' and 'Y24B72' on bumpers he has. Want to be sure it's an original piece. Thanks in advance for any help.

72 bumper will have holes for the rubber tail light surrounds.

Thanks, aware of that difference but not 100% sure on the identification stamping as my 71 has a clear 'N25' stamp. Do not know if that same stamping should be on a 72 N25 bumper.

    Thank you, Doug

I learn new stuff all the time but never knew of them to be stamped like that orig. Possibly done when rechromed?

Y24B72 should be the one you want for a 72. And make sure the holes for the rubber bumpers around the tail light holes have NOT been welded in if it's a rechrome.

Who knows Dano, just happens to be on one for a 1971 I have that looks original and was told it came off the 1971 car and the car came with a new/re-chromed one installed so got both with the deal:).

Thanks for the info N36, was thinking the same (B72), really helpful info from all!
