Guys, I purchased this 1972 M20 with the plan to install it in my 72 GS. To be sure it would be as reliable as the 68 that is in the car, I sent it to Ed Hartnett of EH 4Speeds, well known to Forum manual shift guys, and asked him to look it over. He found it to be generally good, but did recommend a couple internals be replaced - which I had him do. Trans was shipped back to me last summer and never installed. I am likely to be seeling my Stage 1 soon and have no need for this trans. It is now completely relaible and has no repairs to casings, etc.. Decodes, I think, to a Pontiac application. If you are in need of a replacement, spare or one for your conversion project, this is a great opportunity. I have photographed as many of teh id number as I could and hopefully these help you decode further. I am asking $900 for the trans and will ship to lower 48 for $75 safely packaged as it came from Ed. Thanks, Steve

Ed Hartnett is definately the guy to rebuild these. I had both my 70 Stage 1 4-speed transmissions done by him and never had any complaints.

Guys, may have missed the value a bit. I know what I have invested, but let's revise a bit. I will take $900 including shipping to lower 48. I know that there are others on ebay, etc. for less, but this trans has been carefully rebuilt by a guy we all know and trust ( or many do). Anyway, wanted to let everyone know about price change. Thanks, Steve

    Steve,
I may be interested. I've got a 72 Stage 1 h/t auto. that I'm considering converting. Are you open to offers, or is that price firm ?
    Thanks,
    Tim

Tim, not sure on the output shaft, but I do have the correct yoke for it which I will include. Will need to get to the trans in storage to count. Thanks, Steve
