The pot metal will need to have the pits drilled out and filled with silver just like a dentist doing fillings. This is actually how they fix pits before re-chroming..
I live in Albuquerque New Mexico. I can ship it. I called every plating co. in N.M. and was told there are no companies in new mexico that do chrome plating period. Must be the environmentalist! Oh thats right chrome plating is causing global warming!!! I found a company in Albuquerque that ships all the parts they get to another plant in Colorado to have them chrome plated. They said $75.00 but, would have to see it first. Any help would be appreciated.
I would be wary of a 75.00 job . Pauls is at least 300.00 plus shipping and thats for one without pitts . I had some done for 250.00 and they are nice enough . Several on here suggest AIH and I think the address is on here somewhere . Good luck .
Not sure if this was for me but in my case the pits were taken out but I am not sure exactally the method he used . I kn9w a 70 I had done did not look too bad but the part grew alot . That means he put a lot of acid copper on it . His prices have since gone higher but I have mine done .
Yes most of the 72 is painted but there is a large bevel and the lip that matches the headlight doors on the 72 that is plated . I see a lot of 72's on Ebay and at shows that this part is incorrectly all chrome
