1972 GS Spare tire cover

    What is correct for a 1972 GS Spare tire cover

    What is the correct spare tire cover for a 72 GS convertible?
    Does this first image show the correct cover or is it a flat board "lid" correct in Bill's? My guess, knowing Bill and Mark, it is the board. So, is a 72 speckled or hounds tooth?

    I may be wrong here but I believe that the tire cover is an aftermarket item. I did buy one, for 15" tire, from thepartsplace . I prefer it over the stock oem board. give the board unit to a friend.

    The speckled board is correct, although some have more "speckle" than others. Some had so little the board was basically black.
