    Do you wnat to verify that it is an 8.5 corporate or do you want to know the ratio?

    There should be a series of letters stamped into the axle tube on one side. They can be hard to see, and you may need to clean the area. If you can't see the letters, you can always change the lube(not a bad idea) by removing the cover. There will be 2 numbers stamped into the ring gear. Divide the smaller into the bigger, and you will have your gear ratio.

    Ok, I looked next to the drivers side brake and I could not really make out what it is. It looked like a A or 4 then something that looked like a W and then a I or L.

    Standard was a 3.08 but if you want to know for sure open as Larry said and look on the ring gear. It is time for the lube to be changed anyway.

    LA = 3.08 non posi.
