I need a nice 1972 GS drivers side hood to air cleaner seal plate.
I have a 70-71 that I would trade or I would buy what you have if you do not need this one.
Please let me know what you have.
    Thanks in advance!

I have a nice '72 seal plate that I would trade for your 70-71 if in similar condition.
I will get a pic or two for you.

    EDIT.

Here are some pics. The only flaws are a scuff on the large radiused edge (visible in pic 2), and a small nick in the flange (visible in the third pic). I made no attempt to clean it up, and there is some paint overspray (pic 2) that comes off with fingernail pressure. All flaws would invisible once installed.

I also have a '72 pot metal grille I would be willing to trade for a '70 grille if you are interested.

    Jim, This is awesome!!!
I will take pictures of mine, in the car now and see if you want to trade.

Is the '72 pot metal grille different than the 70-71? Sorry, I have not seen one for a while and have to ask.
If they are different, any description or pictures of the difference will let me make sure which I have before I remove it.
If I need a 72, and I do not currently have it, YES, I would also trade it. Thanks Jim!!!

Troy, the 71 is way different then 70-72... 70 has a couple less squares then the 72,otherwise they look the same.It will take a real good Buick guy to tell them apart ,BrunoD.

The '72 grille has fewer openings that align perfectly with the smaller opening in the seal plate. Note in the photo below that the '70 grille (top of pic) has an extra column of 6 square holes plus a column of 2 square holes toward the driver's side, plus two additional holes in the column toward the center of the hood, plus a row of five additional holes toward the front of the hood. So the difference is substantial, but as Bruno mentioned, is easy to overlook when installed on the hood.

Check out what is on your car, and let me know how you wish to proceed.

    EDIT.

Another pic of the under side with plate attached.

    Jim,
Here are some pictures of my perfect seal plate, let me know if it is worthy of a trade.
About the pot metal grille. mine is painted red, I will not be getting any paint till at least this winter, so I will not be able to trade for it. I may be able to buy it, if it is for sale. At that time I could finish a trade, but need to wait on that item.

The pot metal grille can be removed from the painted fiberglass insert. There are 4 studs on the grille that use sheet metal nuts to secure it. So it is possible to keep your red painted insert, which is the only part of the assembly that was identical 70-72. You must take care when removing the nuts to avoid twisting the studs off of the grille, but the parts can be seperated.

The parts look fine to me if you want to pursue a trade.

I removed the grille from the fiberglass insert, it and the seal plate can ship out if you want to complete the trade. I have attached pics. All 4 studs remain intact.
