After months of consideration, and a lot of serious thought, I have decided to put my pride and joy up for sale. I have owned this car since August of 1984, but feel that she needs a new home where she can be shared more with the public. I don’t really do much in the way of car shows anymore, and I don’t drive her much either. I feel bad about this, because when I do, I get some really awesome and positive comments and reactions. I feel guilty that more people don’t get to enjoy the rarity of this vehicle, so finding the right home is very important to me. I inquired about Sloan documentation months back, but due to this COVID mess, it seems that they are running a skeletal crew and must be super buried at this time. That being said, here are the specifics:

    1972 GS 455 Sun Coupe
    VIN # 4G37U2H215207
Purchased the car in 1984 a few days prior to going off to college
Was told that a previous owner blew up the original 455 motor
    3.73 12-bolt posi-traction rear end
Has an “old style” Edelbrock B4B (still have the original intake to go with the car)
    Has a Holley dual-feed
    POSTON headers, 2-1/2” exhaust
    3-speed TH400 on the column
Factory Air Conditioning (in the car, never hooked up)
    Factory Soft-Ray tinted windows
Documented by Richard Lasseter through the GS Club as “one of less than 20 known to exist”

Went through a “restoration” in 1996 that included:

    · Rust free hood, inner fenders, fenders, core support, doors, trunk lid, quarter skins, trunk
    · New carpet and upholstery installed
    · Body-worked and painted Stratomist Blue (original color was Crystal Blue)
    · Sheet with “SPEC TOP” found in rear seat during restoration process

I think it would be fair to rate this vehicle a condition of a “B”.

This is a difficult vehicle to try to get an accurate value assessed to it due to the rarity and lack of information on this car when researching the various muscle car value sites. However, based upon previous appraisals through the GS Club, and considering that very few of these exist, I went to Nada and put this in between average and high retail (closer to average), and then added 20% for the Sun Coupe. With this, I arrived at my asking price of $53,995. Obviously everything is negotiable, so if you are a serious potential buyer, feel free to inquire with any questions you may have, and we can certainly go from there!
