Trying to put my 72 455 together and want to be sure I'm using the correct intake manifold. Could someone please help me with some pictures. Also has anyone blocked off the air runners with a rod? Thank you.
I can't help you as far as a rod being used to block off air runners ( never tried it ) but I can say be careful on intake part #'s in 72 as I believe there were 3 different versions - auto trans, manual trans and I believe 3rd may have been Calif. Maybe someone else can chime in here
There were definitely at least 2 different part number 4 bbl. intakes in '72. One with EGR and one without. All 4 speed cars and CA emission cars had the version with EGR. If I remember correctly, the number for the non EGR intake is 1239925.
