Have a '72 GS455 coded block/heads and most internals. Heads were done a few years back and have been on the shelf waiting for the short block. Block was hot tanked and checked, will need at least a + .030 overbore (.040?), was painted and inside greased up, bolted to the stand since. Crank has been checked, will need to be polished (discolored journals), New oil pump, new Elgin Cam (Stage 1 spec), only 5 connecting rods (??), 2 oil pans, 2 timing covers, 2 intakes ('72 A.I.R. type and '67 430 type). Have the various pulleys, balancer and brackets. Will be a good core to build. Will need: head bolts, fasteners, timing set, gaskets and of course the normal machine work. Looking for $525 / offer Located in So. WI, near Madison Also have a TH400 from a '71 442. Appears to be rebuilt, but should be gone thru before using. Has been on my shelf for the last 10 years. Looking for $150 / offer on it. I have a converter that goes with it (told it is a 2800 stall, no marking I could find). Both items were for a project Regal that never happened. Jim
Bill, photos of the trans. A bit dirty from sitting on the shelf. Has a couple dipstick tubes that go with it. Came from a 442 (nice car) that was being converted to 4 speed. I know nothing more about the trans. Does have a little fluid in it, new seals front & rear. Was told that it had been gone through, but can't confirm other than it is not all greasy. I would at least open it up and check it out. Jim
Shipping to TX? Do we have any members that are headed to TX from the Southern WI area? Trying to figure out shipping from Madison WI to San Antonio TX. This is for the TH400. Thanks, Jim
If Joe takes the heads, I will offer the short block up For $300 with all the 455 parts. (short block less 3 rods)
Appears to be no interest on this engine. So at this point it is worth more as parts. Will be listing it on ebay as parts and recycling the rest. (Not complaining at all, just appears to be how it is). If anyone is looking for individual pieces let me know.
Jimmy You said you had a couple of dipstick tubes for the Turbo 400. If you would consider selling one separately, I sure could use it. Thanks, Doug
