Very nice :TU: By the way: I looked at three separate sources (2 books and a website), they are all saying 104,754 :beer Click image to view the model year 1972 information on teambuick.com :Comp:
Thanks, that was a typo, I have it right on my notepad. Someone is going to get one of the finest 72's out there.
Yes, I thought it was a typo because the numbers were almost the same. Don't you feel sad to let the Electra go? I just looked at all the photos, what a car :TU: !!! Going to put the link on my Facebook, maybe an European Buick nut wants to buy it from you.
I purposely didn't get attached to it, although when you slide in that firm as the day it was new drivers seat and glide over the speed bumps leaving my development then punch the 455 pulling into traffic it does make one smile. I had it to the big Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix a month ago and it had a crowd around it the entire 2 days. People really appreciate it.
Keith, someone is trying to make a little profit on the Electra, the car just showed up on a German website, advertised by a French company. Price is 21,500.00 Euro / US$ 24,338.60 It says that this price is including shipping from the US to the Paris area, all import duties paid. The car will arrive in France 6 weeks after ordering. Import tax is 10% of the value of the car + 10% of the transportation costs + 10% of the insurance costs, in this case: 1413 + 295 + 25 = 1,733.00 Euro / US$ 1,961.81 Shipping will be around 2,950.00 Euro / US$ 3,339.49 Click screenshot to view the advertisement :Comp:
The French seller is also posting the car on his own website. Price is 22,000.00 Euro / US$ 24,904.70 Click screenshot to view the advertisement :Comp:
That's exactly what it is, free advertising, making your market bigger. As long as he is good for his money and pays you what you want to get for the car :TU:
The German advertisement is gone, the French advertisement is still online but the asking price is no longer displayed.
Jeez...I must be incredibly naive; I had no idea people would do that. Live and learn each day...and now some more trust and faith in humanity is gone. Thanks for the education, Erik. By the way, that's a gorgeous car.
And it's back on the German car sale site, the asking price went up with 500 Euro: Asking price is 22,000.00 Euro / US$ 24,622.40 :Comp:
Meanwhile in Europe, the French "seller" of the car did what he did last time when the eBay listing ended: I think the car will be back online later this weekend.
It's back again on the German website, but now the asking price is down to 18,500.00 Euro / US$ 20,631.20 :Comp: On the French website the asking price is now 19,000.00 Euro / US$ 21,188.80 :Comp: Mileage changed to 18,840 KM / 11,706.63 miles
