new to the forum but have been working on my skylark for a bit over a year. Have totaly stripped car down. 350 2bbl has been totaly rebuilt and painted and installed and broke in. I was going to put it back togather as I recieved it, but I got the GSX bug. So now I am doing the body work "not much car is very straight" and looking for 72 gsx front grill, hood with grills, rear spoiler. I have a 4bbl intake so need the carborator. This is my first car and was a NBT "next best thing" to the car I wanted 69 firebird. Now realy glad I got the skylark, less of them around and I think once it has been gsxed it will be great

my profile pic is the skylark just after I got in in 09. 50K origanal mile and very straight. I drove it for about 5-6 weeks and then into my shop. I think I attached some pic of the progress.

    Welcome! Nice car, you have.
You need to get some proper jack stands IMMEDIATELY !! Those concrete blocks are a DEATH TRAP. Do NOT go under that car again before you get proper jackstands!

Hello and welcome from Milwaukee Wisconsin.
There are some GSX clone parts in the link below.
And yeah, please get some heavy duty jackstands. That looks like a death trap. Not trying to be preachy, Ive just heard enough horror stories about cars falling on people and would hate to hear another.

 I have jackstands ,but they don't get high enough for when I was cleaning the bottom of the car. Now I am not under the car much, so I will change my stands. Thanks for the info. This is my first car I have worked on so any help is good help. thx

Nice 72. You made the right choice for the right reason about not choosing the 69 Firebird. Cubic Inch for Cubic Inch Buicks are nicer IMO.

The only reason I started out looking for the 69 firebird convertible is I had one as a kid some 30 years ago. I found one in chicgo at $20k and almost bought it but I realy wanted a project. Then I found this buick with only 50k miles and no visible rust and even after taking the whole thing apart, very little rust and it was only $8K It is giving me something to do while unimployeed... I turned off the heat in the shop yesterday so for the next couple months I will be trying to get some parts I need to gsx the car. Most of the body work is done and in etch primer. I will wate untill the weather warms up to do the high build primer..
