    Just Me?

I seem to notice the car has a 71 nose trim piece & possibly a 71 skylark grill.
Not a bad looking car though.

I thought all GSX cars had big blocks in them?

    Larry,
In 71 and 72 the 350 motor was available. In 72 you could order specific parts only.Spoiler and not stripes...etc You didn't have to get the whole deal as you did in 70.

This car is only about 3 miles away from me. I can check the car out if anyone is interested (and take more pics).

Wrong air cleaner too.All 72's had a triangular whether or not they got the AIR pump.Someone get the cowl tag numbers it will tell immediately if it is an X or not.

I believe I have seen this car at the GS nationals several years ago. (I could be wrong) It was driven in it's current state and as far as I can tell it was a real X. He says that the car is listed in the registry too, always a plus.

    Ken,

I'm seriously contemplating this one. If its not too much trouble, I'd appreciate it if you'd "kick the tires" for me.

    Thanks,
    Rob :beer

I spoke to the owner and I will be going to see the car tonight for anyone who may be interested. He does (in his brothers possesion - in Iraq) have original paperwork from the original dealer indicating its a GSX. Also, it is regeristed as a true GSX. Also, the car originally came with a vinyl top - even rarer for an X.

When you look at the car, make sure that the body number on the cowl tag is 002000 or below. This is how they numbered real GSXs in 1971 and 1972 at the fischer body plant.

I requested firewall tag info a couple days ago and
the car is 63 Burnished copper with F tan vinyle top
Body # is 000339 and Flint built ,11A first week of Nov 71 build date.
Neat car with odd colour combo.

Not to be an idiot....ok maybe I am...F top should be brown.
I agree, thats a cool color combo.I definitely believe its an X with the low body number.I wish I could get rid of my (3) 70-71 projects and scoop this up.

Here ya go....body pics first. This car needs both quarter panels but otherwise it looks very solid. I could not get a pic of the trunk floor (a lot of parts including a tranny in there) but the owner indicated that the trunk floor was solid with a few small holes.

Interior needs work...door panels, front seat, carpet, and crack in dash. Headliner and back seat looked nice. Has aftermarket tach in dash but owner mentioned that he may have an original in dash tach.

Here are exhaust pics. Looked solid with exception of one small rust hole on floor...I could not get pics of it since the car was sitting too low.

I hope that you are the reason that the auction ended early!
