Looking for an aluminum dual plane intake for my 72 Buick 350 engine, it is currently in a 1968 skylark. The car came with a single plane Poston intake that I'd be willing to trade. Located in NH

That Poston intake should be dual plane. It may have the center divider cut down a little. Your only other option is the TA performance intake. Hope you can find what you want from someone.

Is it common to grind them down?

    It's not uncommon.

No Poston is a modified runner single plane. TA 350 dual plane intake is a good one and does pick the car up as opposed to the Poston which at least out of the box is a dog.
