I was told this engine came out of a running car, I have never ran this engine. Engine turns freely.

Anyone know what year intake that is?? Just curious to learn. I know it's not 72..

Intake is a 71 and whoever gets the engine....make sure you trash that flexplate...that is an accident waiting to happen!

 

Why.. The extra holes??

If you notice there is very very little material connecting the center of mass to the outer rotational mass....the 3 points of the triangle....prone to splitting/cracking...once that happens, throws the converter out of balance, takes out the converter, trans and sometimes the crank....it is a very poor design...you want the flexplate with concentric holes.......I have seen this style flexplate split/crack 5 times and each time ending up costing big money...so save the money and trash that flexplate design.
