I'm thinking of buying a 1971 wagoneer with the Buick Dauntless V8. I've heard the only 4v intake for these motors is either Poston or TAPerformance. Edelbrocks won't work...the main question I have is what kind of headers should i be looking at, and what carb came stock on the '71 350 buicks. (what bolt pattern)

First of all the Buick 350 Wags are great, get it.

Buick 350 are lighter than most motors and they make good torque stock.

Thats correct that the only aftermarket intakes are TA and Postons but the stock 4bb is pretty good too. The Buick 350 has a unique intake from other 350's and the buick 455 ect.

For headers TA, Poston and Hooker make good headers for the Buick 350. The Q-jet 4bb carbs are 750 cfm. Adapters can be used to use a Holley but the q-jets match the stock intake.

I think that Jeeps only had the 2V intakes but you could get a cheap 4V intake and a Quadrajet from many Buicks with the 350.

I wish I could get a 1968-71 Wagoneer or Super Wagoneer, I have been looking for one locally but I haven't found one.

    thanks!

I bought the Waggy last night- runs like a champ..lots more power than I expected. What headers will fit the waggy? Hooker doesn't list a part number specificly...?

I'm not sure about the headers fitting the wag. I would post a new thread asking people for measurements off their TA, Poston or hooker headers. Then you can try to measure the compartment for clearance. Goodluck and welcome! Pics??

Hey great find, but I'm stuck on the 'headers' part...on a Waggy???

The stock manifolds may not be perfect, but this is a Full Size Jeep and I would rather keep good iron over imported pot metal.
