I've got a pair of pretty clean guards for my 71, but I'd love to see where the holes should be located before I take a drill to a N-25 bumper... Do these guards have brakets that go to the license plate pocket bolt holes like the fronts do? Does anyone have a template or a copy of the assembly manuial page?

    Thanks,

Between the tail lights & the license plate you will see a pair of bumper bolts. Remove these & install the guards in these holes.
You can easily access this area from the license plate opening of bottom side of the bumper.

Easier tha you thought. The bolts in the middle as Steve mentioned are dummies.

I was hoping that was the case but theres a 1 1/2 inch difference in the distance between the two sets of holes (top and bottom) that would have these things canted inward toward the bottom, and that cant be right - is there a bridge bracket on the bottom like there is on the fronts?

No brackets or braces. Bolts from inside the bumper to the nuts inside the bumper guards.
Possible your bumper has a twist to it or was once repaired?
The '72 rear guard was a completely different animal. Shaped like a "U".
Possible you have a '72 bumper with the holes filled for the cushions?
