When I got my 70 442 it had the "scars" from a hitch. It bolted thru the trunk pan in 2 places and was mounted to the bumper with a single bolt. It had "left........the building" and I was left with two 1" diameter holes in the trunk pan and a small triangular piece broken out of the rear bumper. What a way to destroy a super nice 70 442 rear bumper core. Duane
I had a 70 GS that was an all original car, paint, interior, ect. I posted some pictures before about the hitch. I could not find any stamped info on the hitch. It also had two holes through trunk floor. Nelson
Indeed Duane, I wonder how many cars got the "Treatment" and if it was a particular region/ dealer that hatched that style? Not common as i have seen variations of the same over the years.
