so i was looking at converting my front drums to disc brakes, the question i have is, can i use the spindle from the drums for the disc brakes or will i have to swap everything off the one to have everything work correctly?

or, can people post what they did to convert to disc brakes? thanks

If you convert to that vintage disc brakes, you can get spindles. There are also aftermarket kits that allow you to use your current spindles. Your choice.

I personally took all the parts off a like car, so that I had the proper master, booster and proportioning valve, not wanting to second- guess the factory on something as critical as brakes.

Visit www.scarebird.com and he carries brkts to use later model disc brakes on your car....he also has the brkts to use your drum spindle to convert to disc.

I did the drum to disc swap on my '71 back in '86 or so. I took the discs, spindles, master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve, etc from the '71 Chevelle we had, it was all free:TU:
