Am I correct to assume that a 8.5 out of a 1971 Olds will be a direct bolt on to my 68 skylark?

Also, he listed it as a 1971 Olds Corporate 8.5. Was there such a car?

    Thanks

You might need to shorten the driveshaft a bit though.

Corporate is not a car,it refers to the rear axle. Meaning its stock GM.

The best 8.5 rears were the ones in the 71-72 Buick Skylark/GS, and the 71-72 Cutlass. They had bolt in axles. The 8.5 center section was the corporate rear.

Yes, about 3/4" shorter drive shaft when you replace an 8.2 with an 8.5.
