Well, I just got it out of the chrome shop and although it has been freshly replated, there is an area on the left bottom maybe 2 inches in diameter that the metal is thin and it has a bubble. I suppose it can be fixed but in the meantime it is great for a driver or a flipper. I have $1400 in it and would like to at least get my money back! This is what we are up against as these parts are 50+ years old and the option of repro bumpers is not good either from everywhere that I hear.
Sorry for delay on this...had a death in the family 4 states away and I just got back home. Will unwrap it tomorrow and get some pics.
A place in Detroit. Don't have the paperwork in from of me. I do know that a few years ago I had sent my son's rear bumper off to get replated and they returned it saying it was too thin. I then took it to Sandy's Bumper Mart and Tony there said that he could easily fix it..and he did and it's beautiful. So I am confident that this one would be no different. Some places pick and choose the easy jobs but if you look around there are places very willing to do the work.
Getting bumpers chromed is like playing roulette. Especially these days you get bent over on the price to begin with and the consistency is sketchy at best.
