1971 GS 455. Burnished Cinammon in color. Rare big block car that is legit. Have number's matching block wrapped in plastic. Have protecto plate. All parts that were taken off to build motor you see in vehicle have been saved. Car came from Chicago, but does not have any rust issues. A complete repaint back to the factory color was performed back in 2002 and car has always been stored inside garage with a California Car Cover. The car is visually stunning and has no imperfections. Car currently wears a Stage 2 hood, but have the original ram air hood stored in perfect condition. Interior very nice. Will need new headliner, package tray and recover bottom of Driver's sea. Car is an air conditioning car, but AC pulled off and stored away as is column shift as well. Car also has N25 exhaust option as well and I have kept exhaust tips. The car wears weld draglites with Mickey Thompson ET Streets measuring 28X12.5X15 in the rear and has a set of radials in the front. The motor is a 1974 455 bored .30 over. 8.74 to 1 compression, JE Pistons and rings, Crower Sportsman rods, Nodular iron crank turned .10. 9 quart oil pan from TA performance. TA Stage 2 Street Eliminator Heads ported by Greg Gessler that flow 317 cfm at .500 at 28 inches on intake and 248 cfm on exhaust at .500 without pipe. TA intake ported, 850 Holley DP set up for centrifigal supercharger. Vortech YS trim supercharger with enclosure, blow off etc. Custom bracketry and pulley adapter for supercharger system that makes 10 lbs of boost for horsepower in excess of 813 HP and this is a street car! Car even has power steering that is custom as well. 4 inch custom ram air piping as well with K&N air filter. TA 2 1/8 inch primary and 3 1/2 collector headers jet hot coated in sterling, 3 1/2 inch exhaust with Dynomax Race Magnums. Car has full MSD electronics, Ron Davis Radiator and Dual Spall Fans, Magnaflow regulator, -10 braided fuel line, 20 gallon custom fuel cell that is powder coated, Optima Battery, Dual Fuel pumps, Precision Performance Products shifter with all switches mounted on pedestal including boost timing controller. HAL Shocks in rear with no hop bars, performance lower control arms. Car has Turbo 400 transmission with a shift kit, 10" Art Carr Street Brawler converter that stalls at 3200 RPM. Car also has a Gear Vendors Overdrive so car is truly a street car with race car power. Car has true 9 second power, but can be driven anywhere. Rear end is Corporate 10 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears, but is very sedate with Overdrive. This car is truly incredible and a real big block car to boot. $45,000 firm. Call anytime. 760-440-9966. David. Can send pictures upon request. Will attach magazine feature and link to website that shows it running.

Am I out of line on my price? I know you never get back what you put in these cars, but I thought this was priced fair.

    Hey David,

I know I wouldn't take any less than that for my 71. I think in order to gauge what someone would pay, you may want to stick it on Ebay with large reserve to see what kind of money it would bring.

I normally woun't respond to an ad like this but the price is high for a non stage GS 455 in restored condition . The car is very nice and seems to be scary fast . The one thing that hurts is most people that can spend 45K can ad another 10K and buy a GSX or Stage 1 that are for sale here . I saw the magazine and was very impressed but to get this kind of money you have to find someone that wants a car modified like you do (thats hard) or someone that wants to go racing and has money . I have friends that go racxing but they use chevy power cause its a lot cheaper . I on the other hand think its worth it cause I like Buicks . I say put all that stuff in a Lark and restore the GS to original and see what you have . Oh yes I have a Dana rear for that car so it could come off the line HARD!

I understand that the price I am asking is not cheap, but I probably have $70,000 invested in this car. I now that you never get what you put into these cars, but this is a lot of car for a fair price. How many cars get featured in CarCraft and really run an impressive number and can truly be driven ANYWHERE. The money in R and D alone is enough to choke a horse.

Considering the condition & all the goodies your price is way, way, too low. High Retail Value on NADA for a 71 GS455 is over $42k. You have all the original parts so a buyer could wrench it back to the way it was with relative ease. Listing it here is a long shot as most of these folks are looking for a steal. You will probably have someone trying to talk you down without even looking at it. That said you never know. Leave it on here & try other places as well. Ebay might work. I will leave mine on here even though I keep hearing it isn't worth it. Too bad you don't have a rusty GSX with the motor missing. That thing would be gone in a second for $40k. That said the value will only go up the longer you have it as the Stage 1's & GSX's are moving beyond the reach of many folks to own. The blue book on GS 455's has gone up $5k in the last 12 months or so.

Price lowered to $38,000 and no lower. Any takers? I had on eBay and went to $19,100 on first day and then account go hacked again. I won't put it back on as I don't feel like seeing it get a $2900.00 buy it now price tag thrown on it again from somebody from Slovakia.

    David,

Nice car. It looks great, with a very, very impressive motor. You did a great job building it, and keeping it tasteful. Congratulations on the Car Craft article! :beer

Why are you selling it? Are you considering trades? Have you ran it in the 1/4 mile yet? If so, please give us the numbers. Thanks.

I am selling to buy another house. Car ran a 6.94 in eighth without any real boost. That is equivalent to high 10's in the quarter. With boost would most likely be a 9 second street car that can be driven anywhere.
