1971 electra 455 ?

    can someone point me in the direction of some info on the 455 that came in a 1971 electra 225? i need to know the size of the stock cam and any performance upgrades that anyone can recommend. thanks.

    Biggest single jump in performance would be TA Performance aluminum heads. www.TAperformance.com. They list some cam specs on their site. Even a stage one cam was small.


    Cheapest performance gain might be to recurve the distrib.

    Shorty headers from TA is another posssible source for some increase.

    Dual exhaust if you do not have it.

    Shift kit for the trans

    Be careful about just putting in a big cam. It can actually slow you down for your kind of use. I think that is an 8.5 to 1 engine.

    i also posted this question in the street engine area. this is going into a 71 skylark. i'm not sure why he wants a bigger cam exactly as this is for my father in-laws car. i assume he is just looking for something a little more aggressive than stock
