1971-72 White center caps

I have set of five driver 1971-72 white center caps. These are driver only - not show. Color is faded on two, the other three have okay color. Chrome is okay, some nicks and scratches. Some of the center plastic covers have cracks in them. All the mounting rings on the back are there. $12 shipped anywhere in the U.S.

 

If thats for all I will take them

from what Ive read on the board, 71 had black caps and the silvers were 72's

 

Oh and thats got to be a record for a sale... 4 minutes? Thats how things should work!

From what I have read both 71 and 72 had silvers. Sometime after 73 black where used.

Yip I did more digging and you're right... it was after 72 sometime when they changed to black...

Seems that most of the 72 and older cars I see at shows have black, I got to wonder whyo No:

Did the silver ones fade quicker?
people liked black better?

Its down there on the list with the 455 swap in the works, but need to keep an eye out for a silver set.
