Anyone have a website for the 71 350. I'd like to see the difference between a stock 350 2bbl and a stock 350 4bbl with dual exhaust. Looking for horsepower stats as well as compression ratio for the motors.
In 71 the Buick 350 @ 8.5 comp: 2bbl made 230hp 4bbl made 260hp I think in 70 the 2bbl made 260hp (due to higher compression @ 9.0 comp).
Thanks Just trying to get an idea what I would be at with Hooker Headers and a 2.5 Magnaflow Dual exhaust system.
None of the factory ratings are net at the wheels. The 68-71 rating is at the crank just not using all the accesories like they did with the 72-80.
Ok so it is measured at the crank from 68 to 80 but from 72 to 80 they had all the accessories runnning when they measured the HP and torque. Got it. So did they measure at the crank or at the Tranny output shaft?
For $50 to $100 you can measure your output at the wheels, no big deal. I will likely do mine sometime soon, and I'll swap the 350 qjet with a 455 qjet, and see which runs better for me.:beers2: Yes, it was measured at the crank. Besides, they didn't know which transmission you would be ordering.
