I'm looking to swap out my leaking 1971 2 bbl 350 carb while I try to find a 4 bbl replacement setup. Can anyone tell me if 2bbl carb GM part# 7040148 from a 1972 Buick is compatible with my 1971 GM 2bbl part# 7041142. There is old new stock on e-bay for sale but I don't want to buy something that won't work or requires modifications. They look the same!
7040148 is a '70 carb.. 4th digit will indicate year. The Q-Jets from different years will easily interchange & my guess is that the 2V will also work fine. Double check with a question in "The Mixing Shop", lots of knowledgable folks who can advise.
It should work as long as your choke connections and throttle connections are the same. It will bolt right on.
