I think I know where there was one for sale and is an original 70 (not NOS though) spoiler, but I think he wanted around $700 for it. It was in good condition and my friend even weighed it with a digital scale to confirm it was the correct weight for an original one and not a repro. Let me know if you are interested and I can see if its still for sale.
Wow, that is too rich for my blood (not saying it isn't worth that). Are the reproduction wings crap? Under $300 for a repro. Is there a reproduction you guys recommend? Thanks, Jeff
"The '71/'72 won't fit a '70?" Any 70-72 spoiler will fit any 70-72 car if you use the matching year under brackets. As far as it being the correct size/shape/weight ............................................... and if you also need to change the trunk lid tension bars ..................................... that's another story. This guy has what he says is a 70 spoiler off a GSX-http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/3178744758.html but he's selling it with a bunch of other stuff and seems to be kind of difficult. There is a thread about it here-http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?254290-Craigslist-Joker. He might be a member here, Stage III ( John Fritz ) so maybe you can PM him here and have better luck. Good luck I have nothing to do with any of this but it might be worth a shot.
Thats very possible, it looks like one of the narrower 70 pedastals. That's John Fritz, who had the 4-bolt main 455 block that was put up for sale, and eventually purchased by us. There is no question in my mind he doesn't know what year its for. Maybe I should give him a call and see about getting it to reproduce the correct 70 style rear spoilers. I am sure there is a need for them. Especially once the regular buick guys "discover" there were visual differences between the 70 and 71-72 units. Duane
Wow he had a 4 bolt block, thats amazing I don't know what you could do with one as there were only like 2 made but it would be great just to look at. Oh now that I look at it that was John Fritz's article I read, I can't believe he sold it.
He had the block and another guy had the Stage 2 Tunnel Port heads, intake, & Kustom headers. We ended up re-uniting all the pieces and the Engineer that made it all happen, Dennis Manner. It has been displayed at several BPG events. Duane Now back to our regularly scheduled program.............
