1970 Stage 1 Emission Decal / Location

I have a '70 Stage 1 with an early-type radiator cover shroud (split with a hump in the middle). I ordered a vehicle emission control decal from Osborne that I believe is correct for the car (only 1 decal was available for a '70 Stage 1 w/ automatic transmission). However, the decal is too long to fit on either side of the raised middle part of the shroud (see attachment). A couple of questions:

    1. Is this the right decal for the shroud?
    2. If so, would it be more correct to cut the sticker at the black line and put each piece on either side of the raised middle part, or leave the decal uncut and have it overlap on the raised parts of the shroud? (I realize that the factory simply slapped decals on wherever without regards to appearance. I'm looking to find the best combination of appearance and correctness.)

Any assistance or insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Also...
I can't read the "keep your GM car all GM" air cleaner decal but, with an early car, it should have "BC" as the code, I believe. Double check yours. Classic Buick has the proper decals for that too.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

Here's pic of an early '70 Stage 1 with the early style radiator cover and decal from a late 1969 issue of Hot Rod magazine.

Thanks. I saw the Classic Buicks decal site but went with Osborne as they seemed to make the decals that most sites sell. Does Classic Buicks manufacture their own decals?

The code is "BD". I wasn't sure which one to get but the "BD" sticker is for a 455-4V non-heavy duty air filter. The other '70 455 option was the heavy-duty air filter decal (I assume) with a "BX" code. The "BC" decal is listed for a '70-71 GS350/400.

    Thanks for the clarification!

I have no idea who makes Classic's decals. I do know they are different than Osborne's.

On early 70's, the correct code is BC. The site has a typo in stating 350-400 cid. They should have said 350-455 early. This can all be verified in the assembly manual. Below is a photo of my Air Cleaner decal on the GSX Prototype. The car was built the first week of September, 1969 for date reference .

Guys I believe those are all Osborne decals as all start with the DB code. I have bought them from several sources and they all have the DB code so Osborne is it unless you are lucky enough to need the ones I had made from NOS decals.(not early however). I believe the BC code was used all the way through the 70 model year for the air cleaner as it was the same for 71. My info shows the BU was for heavy duty air cleaner. Sorry I don't have an Emissions for his app.

A sure way to Id an Osborne BC code decal beside the DB part # on the back is the long GM part number on the front is one digit off from original. A 5 I believe replaces a 6.
