This one is suspect. Owner says it is matching numbers stage 1 but, has wrong emblem on front fender and 12 bolt rear. Talked with owner and he evades direct questions about documentation and drivetrain numbers.

This looks like a car that I inspected years ago in Sarasota, FL. It had a numbers matching transmission with a BA code on it.

Obviously, the seller has no clue about what he's selling. Its not even his car. Even if it was, you normally take whatever the seller says with a grain of salt. Looks like a nice car. I personally don't care for the wing, spoiler and sport mirrors on a 70 no less

Yea, and he punched a hole in the hood for a GSX tach too.

Just noticed that on the bidding, out of 50 bids, one bidder bid 20 times in a row, another bid 18 times in a row and a third bidder bid 7 times in a row. Looks like shill bidders to me.

I just received a pic of the block stamping between cyl 5 and 7. It is definitely a SR code which is a standard GS455, not a stage 1. The transmission code is BA, also a standard GS455.

BA is a transmission code. The engine will have a different set of codes. The block is probably a re-stamp.

I believe engine codes start with the letter S. Should be SF or SS or ST, etc...

You are right. I made a mistake which I've corrected in my post. The engine code is SR and transmission code is BA making this a standard GS455 engine for 1970.

No offence to people who do this - It's your car, but please stop cutting holes in these hoods! First thing I see is a car that needs a hood. Eventually it seems every damn hood out there is going to have a hole in it. Before getting that hole saw out, see if someone has a hood with a hole in it already &/or think about the day you'll eventually sell the car. Sorry, rant over:).

    The ad says:

"This 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible has factory matching numbers and has undergone a comprehensive, professional, off-frame, rotisserie restoration to the highest degree."

Actually, there innumerable things incorrect about this car and it does not even have a stage 1 drive train.
