Rebuilt and restored 8.2” 2:73 posi rearend from a 70 Skylark. This started life as a 2:73 non-posi. Everything disasssmebled, housing was hot-tanked,blasted,and powder-coated satin black. Original GM 2:73 gears are in perfect condition. I machined/modified an Eaton Tru Trac posi unit to work with the rearend. All new Timken bearings/seals. Assembled, filled with fluid and ready to run. Price is $1400.00 plus freight from Erie,PA 16505
Is your wife out of town or something? I'm tripping out on the rear end photos in the beautiful clean CARPETED rooms.
Nope. I am very careful and everything is clean. I build more of these now in my Florida room than I do in my shop.
Hi Brian, is there any way you could detail the machining process necessary to fit the posi into the 8.2? Is this common knowledge or your secret sauce? I feel like this is the reason most people switch to 8.5s! You willing to start a new thread on it?
It’s not the lack of posis,it’s the lack of gearsets. There are ZERO gearsets available for the 68-70 8.2” Buick rears.
