1970 Riviera

    I have the rear-end ripped apart right at this moment and there are no different gear ratios for it. The only thing I can find is the 2.73, and I've talked to a lot of people and nobody knows. I don't have the money to get a complete rear-end, and Ive heard that there aren't any rear-ends that meet the dimensions.

    What about used? I know of a couple junkyards that ship parts.

    To the best of my knowlege, '66-'70 Riv rears are similar to each other, but unique from anything else. One guy who looked at mine while apart about 20 years ago (he builds them for race cars) told me it was like a 12 bolt with some 10 bolt features. ?? Starting in '68 "C" locks were used on the end of the axles and the wheel bearings were different (I think).

    Anyway, I would think the complete rear end would be the same from earlier ones. I don't think you will find a new gear set, but a good used one should be out there if you look hard enough..........you just have to be determined.:bglasses:
